Why do they see 25 menu items?» Angry Menu Hider is built for the moment you hand a WordPress site over to a client or an editor. Open one screen, pick their role, tick what they don’t need, drag the rest into a sensible order and give items names they understand. No code, no settings spread over several screens. #### What makes it different * **Badges survive renaming.** Rename «WooCommerce» to «Shop» and the live counters( new orders, pending comments, available updates) keep showing and keep updating. They are not frozen or lost with the old name. * **You can’t lock yourself out by accident.** Before you save, the plugin warns you if the rules would hide the whole menu from you or hide its own settings page. The settings page always stays reachable by its URL. * **See why an item shows up.** The details panel of every item shows its real URL, the capability it requires and the capabilities the selected role has, with the required one highlighted. Go to **Settings Angry Menu Hider**. 3. Visit a few wp-admin pages as an administrator, so the plugin can record the available menu items. 4. Pick a role, tick the items to hide and click **Save rules**. ## Ofte stilte spørsmål ### Does hiding a menu item stop users from opening the page? No. Hiding only removes the link from the menu. Anyone who knows the URL can still open the page if their role has the capability. Blocking access to the page itself is a Pro feature. ### Some menu items are missing from the list. The plugin records menu items as administrators browse wp-admin. Visit the page that shows the missing item as an administrator, then reload the settings page. If a plugin was removed and its items are still listed, use 🔄 Clear list. This clears only the recorded list, never your rules. ### Can I lock myself out? The plugin warns you before saving rules that would hide everything from you or hide its own settings page. The settings page is always reachable at wp-admin/options- general.php?page=angry-menu-hider. ### Do the rules apply to administrators? Only if you select the Administrator role. Rules apply only to the role you set them for. ### Does it work with custom roles? Yes. Every role on the site is listed, including roles added by other plugins (WooCommerce, membership, LMS). A user with several roles gets the rules of all of them. ### Does it send data anywhere? Only if you agree. On activation the plugin asks whether you want to share some basic data with us through Freemius, the platform that handles our licenses and upgrades: your name and email, your site’s URL, WordPress and PHP versions, and the list of plugins and themes. It helps us find compatibility problems. You can skip it, and the plugin works exactly the same. Your menu rules never leave your site. Pro licenses are activated and updated through Freemius.
