Tengill for dk creates invoices for your WooCommerce orders and automatically syncs products prices and inventory status between your WooCommerce store and the dk accounting suite over the dkPlus API.
This plugin runs entirely within your WordPress installation, without relying on 3rd party services (besides dk and dkPlus) and is used and recommended by WooCommerce shops with thousands of products and a large number of sales.
Unlike other plugins in this category, Tengill is free software, still maintained and supported by the original author and is neither affiliated with or requires your site to be hosted with specific web hosting companies or to change your server settings to work properly and has been tested with various web hosts.
The software comes free of charge, with commercial licenses available at tengillpro.is.
🔄 Product Sync
The product sync feature is adjustable so it is up to you which product attributes are synced or if you create and delete WooCommerce products automatically from your dk inventory records. You can even use Tengill without syncing your products to enjoy other features such as invoice generation.
Product sync works as long as the plugin can match a WooCommerce product by comparing its SKU with the relevant dk Product Code.
Tengill will not even break a sweat if you have a large selection of products as the sync process is split into small batches, ensuring that background processing works with most web hosting providers.
✨ Product variations
Product variations are fully supported and Tengill provides its own interface to handle those beyond the limited functionality that dk provides. Some B2B features are also supported including group prices, prices with and without VAT as well per-contact WooCommerce accounts, which eases corporate and public sector procurement.
🧾 Invoicing
Tengill for dk generates invoices automatically for every successful WooCommerce order. You can email invoices directly to your customers and download them directly from WooCommerce.
If a WooCommerce product is missing a SKU, you can choose a stand-in dk Product Code based on its VAT. You can even define a criteria for when not to make an invoice automatically.
✅ Credit Invoices for Returns
If you initiate a manual refund for a WooCommerce order, you can generate a credit invoice directly from there using Tengill for dk.
This means you can provide both debit and credit invoices throughout the whole WooCommerce order workflow, using a familiar user interface, without exposing frontline staff to dk.
🪪 Kennitala Support
If you need to match your WooCommerce customers with your dk records, then Tengill for dk adds a Kennitala field to both the new Block-based WooCommerce checkout form as well as the Classic checkout, so it support most site builders as well. This field is compatible with the field added by the Iceland Post plugin.
Adjust Tengill as you like. The kennitala field can be made mandatory or not and creating new customer records based on a kennitala is optional.
If no Kennitala is needed, then you can define a Default Kennitala such as 000000-0000 for your WooCommerce orders.
👔 Customer Records and B2B
Tengill for dk adds a Kennitala field to your WooCommerce customer records, which lets you fetch price groups, fixed percentage discounts and more from dk for your logged-in customers.
You can also define a contact person for each of your B2B customers, which enables you to have multiple WooCommerce user account per customer; one for each contact person or department.

Tengill for dk is intended for use on large-scale, revenue-generating WooCommerce stores and is intended to help shop owners with optimising their workflow.

If you need bespoke solutions, assistance and support services outside of WordPress.org, a commercial license is the best way to receive support directly.

⚖️ Policies, Privacy and Legal
This plugin’s functionality depends on connecting to the dkPlus API, provided by dk Hugbúnaður ehf (dk). dk provides its services as per their own General Terms and Conditions (PDF) and Privacy Policy (PDF).
This plugin is developed, maintained and supported on goodwill basis, without any warranty or guarantees as per the GPLv3 license. As the plugin connects to, uses and affects live dk accounting data, it is highly recommended that all information in your DK accounting software is backed up and that your dk ledger and other accounting records are monitored for any unexpected changes or discrepancies. Furthermore, it is higly recommended that you evaluate this plugin in a limited capacity in a staging environment before putting it to full use.

You can set Tengill up on your own but do note that the plugin assumes that you have sufficient knowledge about both WooCommerce and your specific dkPlus and dk ERP envionment.
Before you get started, you need to set up an account with dk’s dkPlus web service.
You will also need to finish setting up your WooCommerce shop ot a minimum extent, including tax rates for 24%, 11% and 0% VAT, payment methods and whether prices are VAT-inclusive or not.
Click the Tengill for dk item in your wp-admin sitebar to open the settings.
Enter your dkPlus API key in the form provided for a user with sufficient privileges under WooCommerce 🠆 Tengill for dk, correlate your WooCommerce Payment Gateways with the Payment Methods in your dk account and make sure that other settings are in accordance with how they are set up in dk.
Ask your accountant or finance manager if you are not sure about some of the settings.
Once a connection has been established, the plugin will work right away and will register products and other records in dk on creation in WooCommerce, as long as the correct inventory codes are set and a correct SKU is set for each item.

Why do my invoices look different?

Tengill uses the dkPlus API to communicate with the dk ERP system. dkPlus uses its own set of templates for invoices and other printed material, which are different from the desktop version of the dk ERP.
If you need to add your logo or other branding to your dkPlus invoices, you can do so directly by logging into dkPlus and adjusting your templates there.

Do I need to set up email delivery for invoices?

The plugin does not depend on WordPress or your web server being able to send emails. As we are leveraging dkPlus’ own email functionality, you need to enter the correct settings there and set the appropriate DNS settings such as your domain’s SPF record in order for invoice delivery to work.
Alternatively, you can generate and download a PDF invoice directly from the WooCommerce order interface.

Is this the same software as the similar 1984 plugin?

Tengill traces its roots to the same project and is made by the same main author but is strictly speaking not the same software. The name of the company, branding and other intellectual property that does not fall under the GPLv3 license have been removed and are not used for marketing or sales purposes as per 1984’s request.
The progress that has happened since then has resulted in a completely separate WordPress plugin that is still actively maintained and supported.
The two are incompatible and cannot work as drop-in replacements for each other.
Just to name a few of the bugs and quirks that have been fixed, the scalability has been wastly improved which means that thousands of products can be synced, improved calculations for line item prices, totals and VAT, improved support for international customers, an improved user interface and new features such as product discount support, product category sync and customer contacts.
